artist’s manifesto

a statement of purpose

write your own poetry
in the margins of mine.
keep my paper,
              my prints,
                     my words,
on your table;
let them get sticky
with syrup and cream.
the great artistic compliment
is for work to be eaten
                 by a four-year-old.
i’m real.
i’m real.
use me
       as a place
to begin.

Usually I have a little mini essay or something to go with these poems, but I think I’m going to switch things up a bit and just let them stand on their own from now on. They say what I want them to say already. :)

Enjoy <3
